Join us for an afternoon of crafts, ice cream, and music, featuring The Peaceabilities and Evan Carawan.
‘The Peaceabilities’ (formerly, ‘The Emancipators’), winner of the 2016 Peacemaker Award by the Oak Ridge Environmental Peace Alliance, has been making music for community-building, peace, and justice since 2008. Same players and music for fun and better-world making, just a different moniker.
‘The Peaceabilities’ play acoustic music, both traditional and contemporary, with vocal harmonies and plenty of opportunities for listeners to sing along. We seek to play music that is fun, and also that tells personal stories, builds community, and promotes peace and positive social change. The band has benefited from a number of fine musicians who have moved to other projects over the years and mourns the loss of our flutist and perennial source of good cheer, Durant Thompson, Jr. Current members are Guy Larry Osborne, Kevin Collins, Ralph Hutchison, and Mitzi Wood-von Mizener.
